How To Get More Done With Less Work

Sounds crazy, right? Well it’s not. Most super successful people make it first priority on the weekend to rest, relax and take part in healthy activities. They use their weekends to restart themselves for the upcoming week. Ok got it, so hit the reset button and then what? We know it is much easier to say than to actually do. Some of us have children and work that overflows into the weekend. Here are some ways to find balance and use your weekends to the highest potential.

Pick & Choose Chores

Chores feel like work and if you do chores all weekend, you will feel as though you never had the weekend off. Pick, choose and prioritize. If something doesn’t get done, then oh well, do it another weekend. If you do chores all weekend, then you are not resting and relaxing.

Unplug Yourself

This is the most important thing you can do to free yourself for the weekend. Unplug Yourself from the electronic world. You can start doing this when you leave work on Friday until you get back in the office on Monday morning. It is so hard to do in today’s world but you almost have to or your are not giving yourself the necessary break that you need mentally and physically. In some cases this might be unrealistic, and in those circumstances, try doing small increments of time to check emails. This way you can squeeze in that much needed R&R to conquer the next week!

Exercise and Physical Activity

But I don’t have the time. We have all heard this excuse. You do have the time on the weekend. Spending time outside gets the creative juices flowing. You are helping yourself physically and mentally with exercise. Find something that you love and make it a part of your weekend routine. You deserve to look and feel good.

Family Time

The week is so crazed and simply flies by. You might get home and your kids are already sleeping. You live in the same house but you are not present most of the time. It is essential to spend time with your spouse and children. If you have fur babies, you have to spend time with them as well. Take a trip to see your parents too. Don’t just live in the same house as your family. Talk to them, hang out with them and do activities with them. Life is so precious and you want to sneak in as much time as possible with your loved ones.

Follow these simple steps and you will find that your work life will become much easier. Sometimes something must give. Prioritize, you can work hard, but you can live life too.
